Welcome to a two-month unit full of barnyard animals and sounds, and well-known figures such as Old MacDonald.  There are chants and tickles; bouncing and dancing; and delightful action songs such as “Hop-Up, My Baby”.  We will continue to explore stopping and moving, up and down, and the different qualities of sounds that instruments and voices make (timbre).  You’ll be spending one-on-one time with your baby, and  being with other moms (or dads) and their babies.

This unit is full of flowers and gardens and “Misty Moisty Mornings”.  But on the other hand there are joyful jigs and trotting horses.  You will move and dance with your baby. There are colorful scarves and noisy percussion instruments for stimulation.  And there are lullabies and gentle music for rocking.  Kindermusik provides you with an opportunity to have quality time with your baby.

This unit makes everyday home activities and chores easier and more fun with music! Cook and sing to “The Muffin Man”; dust and clean to the original song “In My House”; get ready to wash clothes to the delightful poem “Washing Machine”. Baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping and making tea are all represented in familiar as well as new songs. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1 ½ to 3-year-olds. Capture the familiar and new moments of the day and learn how music can impact your toddler.

Children will love the many activities that take place in Grasshopper Park.  Their new pretend friends, Josh and Katie, play there every week on the slide, the swing set and the seesaw.  Included in the home materials are  two literature books full of detail that will delight the 3 and 4-year old.  A slide whistle will enable the children to understand first-hand what a glissando is.  We will sing songs from Ghana, Latin America, Greece and France.  And the CD that you will have at home contains interactive tracks, chants and compositions for listening, dancing, pretend play and playing instruments.
